Plantion

As of 1 January 2008, Plantion BV is the new merged auction of the Vleuten auction and the Eastern Netherlands Flower Auction. Plantion currently has two other locations, Bemmel and Utrecht. In February 2010, the new combined auction will move to Ede.

Both Plantion locations are specialized marketplaces for regional retail and wholesalers, complete with a garden center for silviculture varieties and a wholesale center. Combining these two organizations in a central location allows benefits of scale and efficiency to be achieved.

Plantion intends to achieve better regional positioning in the market, with a broad daily assortment of flowers, plants and related products and fast distribution with dense coverage. An additional goal is to further develop forms of sales and service tailored to the target group. Plantion’s aim is to offer suppliers and buyers a serious alternative in the area.

The A12 Ede-Veenendaal industrial estate is the location of the new auction. There is excellent access to the estate, located directly off the A12 and A30 motorways. Plantion is very pleased to be able to make a new start in this location. The municipality of Ede is also pleased that Plantion has chosen Ede as its location. The auction is a perfect fit for the industrial estate’s profile: logistics with added value, agricultural and food-related businesses.
