As with many products, the suppliers of Gladiolus provide different weight classes. Most suppliers deliver a different number of stems per packaging for each weight class. Buyers can then assume a lower number of stems per packaging relates to the heavier Gladiolus weight classes. However, if a lower number of stems is delivered for a light weight class, the buyer will end up paying relatively too much.
Therefore, a pilot is starting on 1 June 2011 to indicate the weight of each Gladiolus stem in the fourth box.
